Senior Engineer/Project Manager
Location: Mojave, CA
This Senior Engineer position will be part of the team handling flight
vehicle design, propulsion system development, component testing,
vehicle integration, and flight testing and operations of the company's
rocket-powered vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) spacecraft.
In addition to general systems engineering this position will also be
responsible for overall project management. This includes developing
project plans, making task assignments, resource allocations, and
budget analyses, and managing team performance. The ideal candidate
will be comfortable with iterative project management techniques,
aggressive time-lines, and limited budgets to help create low cost,
commercially viable spacecraft.
- Responsibilities:
- Creating vehicle conceptual requirements and design requirements.
- Developing, as part of a larger team, vehicle subsystems such as actuators
, throttle valves, and propulsion systems.
- Participating in Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and vehicle integration.
- Creating flight and component test plans.
- Support flight and propulsion testing.
- Developing overall project plans, budgets and time-lines
- Assigning tasks to team members
- Managing and evaluating team performance
- Required Qualifications:
- At least three years of technical project management experience
with small, cross functional, highly flexible teams
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical
engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Desired Qualifications:
- Background and at least 3 years experience in:
- Aerodynamics and CFD,
- Rocket propulsion,
- or Mechatronics
- Knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, and C/C++ programming.
- Prior experience with avionics hardware and flight systems
- Exposure to aviation/aerospace standards, practices and regulations

Technician/Fabricator
Location: Mojave, CA
As part of Masten Space Systems you will be responsible for assisting
in the assembly, maintenance, fabrication, and operation of
rocket propulsion systems, test stands, ground support equipment,
and flight vehicles. This is a very hands-on job working on
fun and exciting projects.
- Responsibilities:
- Assemble engines, vehicles, and other hardware
- Perform maintenance (and provide feedback on maintenance procedures)
- Assist in ground and flight testing
- Rustle bottles and dewars
- Contribute to general shop maintenance & organization
- Required Qualifications:
- Hard working
- Hands on experience as auto mechanic, fabricator, airplane
mechanic or other similar technical experience
- Desired Qualifications:
- Welding and or brazing experience
- Manual or CNC milling experience
- Experience or strong desire to work at a small technology startup

Location: Mojave, CA
Masten Space Systems, a small aerospace startup based in Mojave, CA,
seeks a motivated office manager comfortable with the day to day
operations issues of a technology startup.
- Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable/Receivables
- Managing incoming customer and pre-sales support
- Basic financial reporting and accounting
- Required Qualifications:
- Basic accounting
- Quickbooks, Excel, Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational ability; time management skills.
- Must have reliable transportation at all times.
